Relay For Life of Audrain County
We walk so they don’t fight alone.
Country 96 is a proud media sponsor of Relay For Life of Audrain County — the American Cancer Society's signature community fundraiser. One night. One track. A whole county standing up to cancer together.
About Relay
A community that refuses to give up
Relay For Life brings together survivors, caregivers and supporters for an overnight walk that celebrates, remembers and fights back.
Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s flagship fundraising event, held in communities all over the country — including right here in Audrain County. Teams take turns walking a track through the evening because the fight against cancer is constant. Along the way there’s music, food, games and, at dusk, the moving luminaria ceremony.
Every lap and every dollar supports cancer research, free patient services and prevention programs. Country 96 lends its voice to the cause every year — promoting the event on the air, broadcasting live from the track and helping our neighbors remember why we walk.

The Night
What happens at Relay
From the survivor lap to the luminaria ceremony, here's how the evening unfolds.
Opening & Survivor Lap
We honor cancer survivors and caregivers with the first lap around the track — a celebration of every fight won.
Team Laps & Campsites
Teams walk in shifts while campsites offer food, games and fundraisers up and down the track.
Luminaria Ceremony (at dusk)
As the sun sets, we light bagged candles in memory and in honor of loved ones, then walk a silent lap together.
Fight Back & Closing
We close with a commitment to keep the fight going all year long, on the air and off.
Get Involved
Three ways to take part
Whether you walk, give or roll up your sleeves, there's a place for you on the track.
Join or start a team
Rally your church, workplace, ball team or family. Teams take turns walking the track all evening — because cancer never sleeps, and neither do we.
Donate
Every dollar fuels research, patient services and prevention through the American Cancer Society. Give to a team, a survivor or the event as a whole.
Volunteer
Help with setup, registration, the survivor dinner, luminaria sales or teardown. A few hours of your time keeps the whole night running.
